About

I am using a pseudonym because I am a chicken to use my real name (in case my writing is really crap unbeknownst to me lol), and to protect my privacy and that of my loved ones who will most likely be mentioned often in my writings. I picked this pseudonym over 30 years ago, planning to use it when I wrote my first novel (chicken to claim my work even then I guess.)

I am a teacher, crafter, and traveler. I am into self-help literature. Recently, I have become a wanna be minimalist (with the help of this wonderful blog www.becomingminimalist.com ……major inspiration and common sense from this guy!), but my inner demons are fighting me on this. I looooovvvvveee things, especially beautiful things. I keep telling myself, “Yes June, it is beautiful….that doesn’t mean you have to have it.” It works on and off.

I love to help people riddle through their emotional/relationship issues. I don’t have any actual credentials for this, but I do have a LOT of personal experience. For instance, I am a great cook. When someone asks me how I learned to cook, I answer, “By burning or messing up many dishes.” So let’s just say, I’ve been in the trenches of the emotional “no man’s land”. Been there, done that…..I now have the view of an eagle, the wisdom of an owl, and the peace of a dove.

I am very new to this minimalist movement but have been inspired and encouraged by all. if it weren’t for people like you, putting yourself out there, people like me would not be inspired and encouraged! keep it up!

  2. Thank you, loved reading your blog and looking forward to a lot more of them. It didn’t take but a minute to realize that your words are what I needed. I think you and I could become good friends.

  3. Hi June, I just wanted to say good on you for putting yourself out there, and I wish you much luck with your quest for a minimal life. I’m embarking on the minimalist approach myself, LOVE the book “the game of life and how to play it” and am too chicken to take the first step towards my dream of writing…but I’m inspired by you, and I wish you much joy…Leigh x

  4. Thanks so much Leigh! My day (in fact my life) is made when I hear I have inspired someone!

On minimalism: I so wish I had learned the “truth” about possessions when I was young. I still struggle with wanting “things”, but I am getting better. Reading Joshua Becker’s words at http://www.becomingminimalist.com always gives me motivation! I have noticed that the things I am now purchasing generally enhance some type of experience (like my recent purchase of an outdoor fire pit, which I intend to enjoy family time around) but still I sometimes buy/keep things that I should not. I believe I will continue to conquer this issue.

Concerning your dreams of writing—Go ahead and go for it Leigh! Staying in chicken mode was more painful than anything I have experienced thus far. I really have kept it fairly secret though, because I did not want to open the door to any naysayers that I knew on a personal level. I also did not want to create any uncomfortable feelings for my extended family (they come from old Germans who believe in keeping your feelings to yourself lol) A person becomes very transparent and vulnerable through writing so It does feel scary. Sharing my blog address with a few close friends was an uncomfortable feeling to me although they were very supportive. I think if I gain any popularity/income it will be easier to “come out”. Get yourself out there in some way….you won’t regret it. If nothing else, writing will lead to better self awareness.

“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”

    ― Flannery O’Connor

Sending you positive energy for your success!
    Peace and Love,

    June
